In Alison Campbel's book The Scuttling Gourmet, she says that when rats are sick:

"This is the time to reduce the usual cereal based dry rat mix, in favour of moist highly nutritious foods that are easy to eat. Leave a small bowl of dry mix in the cage so that the rat can nibble on this if they wish, but also provide frequent small meals of fresh foods." - pg. 217 [emphasis added]

She does not expand on how often to feed, or how much to offer at each smaller meal. Can anyone with experience feeding sick rats flesh this out?

My rats have a URI. We're going to push our local vet to start a Doxi/Baytril combo treatment today.
