Like you, we're deeply concerned about the effects of the devastating Valley Fire. As in most disasters, many animals go missing, people who are evacuated aren't able to find a place to house their pets, and few are in a position to adopt animals locally.
MHS is part of a regional coalition of organizations involved in the rescue and rehoming of animals affected by the fire and has begun accepting adoption animals from the affected region. Please note -- these animals arrived in shelters pre-fire and do not belong to those evacuated.
What can you do?
1. Adopt! We're doing everything we can to find loving homes for as many animals as possible so we can continue to help shelters in the affected regions.
2. Donate! Give money to the MHS Valley Fire Appeal. Animal shelters in the affected areas are stretched thin. MHS is accepting and processing donations on their behalf and 100% of donations made through this special appeal will be distributed to local animal shelters and rescues in the areas impacted by the fire.

You can also mail checks to:

Novato, CA 94949
3. Dance!
We're hosting our Woofstock Music Festival featuring Wonder Bread 5 this Sunday, September 20 at our Novato campus. All cash donations made during Woofstock will be added to the Valley Fire Assistance Appeal.

On behalf of all the animals and the people who love them, thank you.
