I'm new to rat ownership so I will defer to the experts here.

I have two female rats, still young. How big do rats get? And are females smaller than males, or the same size... or bigger?

Anyway, females are generally smaller than males. There is usually a decent range in weight just like with people. Less weight for those with smaller frames, etc.

I have two females and a male:

Melon (1yr old/Female) - 13 oz
Barry (5 month old/Neut. Male) - 14.5 oz <-- He is huge and I am going to end up with a rat/dog by the time he is done.
Kiwi (6 month old/Female) - 5.5 oz.
