hi everyone i got two girl hairless rats from a pet store the other day because they had bad allergies in the eyes and i didnt think they were taking care of it. they had the girls on hard hay like stuff and they are HAIRLESS not good for skin or allergy.. any way they are doing sooo much better with the eyes but one of the girls always poops on me when i pick her up and her poop is green? i am new to rats but i have not seen that before. anyone know what that is about? ps. they are so sweet, both are pink eyed. thanks trish

haha, their poop changes color depending on what they eat. sometimes my girls have reddish or purple poop, sometimes it's green. i give them hamsteroids to nibble on but i guess they eat more than i think they do, ha ha! it's normal and will go to a more "normal" color after you give them some better food.

thanks, that makes sense i have been giving her spinich, its probably the only freash greens she has ever had thanks agian.just cant help but worry about her. trish

its normal. my new hairless, as well as my other girls often have green poop.

If she's never had greens or veg before, make sure you introduce them slowly to aviod an upset tummy But so long as her droppings aren't runny or mucousy, don't worry.

her poop isnt green so much anymore but when i pick her up she always poops and it is sooo smelly its like she does it to get me for picking her up, her sister doesnt do that. i have two other girl rats that dont do that just her?? thanks trish ps the girls eyes look sooo much beter.
