I'd love to be able to make my own hammocks and I've seen many of the homemade ones on the site. Would anyone be willing to share their patterns for hammocks, cubes, tubes ect? I am not very good at sewing - but I can manage. My girls are such little munchers they destroy everything within a few days and I really can't afford to keep buying them. Thanks very much.

If they're really that bad, I would suggest not even bothering to sew. I bought a ton of those purse clips and some yards of fleece. Then cut the fleece into doubled up squares however big you want, and clip the corners to your bars. Super easy, and easy to replace.

I would post a pic, but I'm a bit too lazy today to downsize the pic, add it onto the forum, etc...

I make simple hammocks that my girls just love.

Step 1: get an old shirt or sheet, and cut a large square out of it.
Step 2: cut 4 long, thin cloth strips.
Step 3: use scissors and punch it through the 4 corners of the square
Step 4: tie the strips through the holes of the cloth square
Step 5: tie onto the cage and watch your rats explore!

If I made no sense, I will try and post pics of what I mean.

That does indeed make sense. My problem is that they will chew through any cloth.
