Hi,

My girlfriend and I have become proud parents to 7 adorable girls who will be 6 weeks old this Friday. Unfortunately we don't have any good photos until we pick them up on Sunday.
We've spent agesss looking for a reputable breeder and eventually found one 70 miles from where we live. She impressed us with her knowledge, care, ethics and attitude.

We have a beautiful mix of colours and can't wait to share the photos of our girls; Milly, Nibbles, Precious, Sky, Mittens, Frankie and Freckle.

Haha, thanks! Very excited about it all. I think the last time we both read up so much information on a topic was when we took exams in school!

And we're very glad to come across this forum as a good resource of knowledge.

So, we've had a crazy few weeks of being rat parents. We understand why everyone was shocked at 7 rats first off :D

Here are a few pics..

We started off with this cage (Mamble 100) for the first few weeks:

Then decided our ratties deserved something much better and bigger:

The cage is huge, actual size of the living quarters are 90cm x 164cm x 54cm (HxWxD). It's a Little Friends Elegance cage and comes with a divider, which will come in handy for introducing new rats (in the future) to current rats. We don't use the divider, so they have the whole cage to frolic around in.

And here are 4 of our babies in a tube:

Top left - Nibbles, Top right - Precious, Bottom left - Milly and Bottom right - Frankie.

Bit of a funny story - when we first saw our ratties, they were 4 weeks old and Frankie was very freckly and spotty. We named them before we picked them up 2 weeks later (we were on holiday in Rhodes and the breeder only lets her rats go at 6 weeks, so this worked out perfectly). However, we had originally named Frankie as Freckle, but her freckles had disappeared (ish) when we picked them up ??? So Freckle became Frankie and Frankie became Robin.
