hi everybody just thought id introduce myself. Hopefully ill be getting some new rats very soon. Probably 2 little girls. The last time i owned rats was an eventful experience. I bought what i thought were 2 girls until one of these girls had 11 babies. I took the other rat to the vet and after much confusion the vet decided it was a maphrodite. Hopefully this wont happen again!

Hermaphrodites are very rarely fertile. I'd wonder if your other female didn't get pregnant at the store.

If you want to avoid an oops litter you could get boys... ;)

And look into rescues or SPCAs... there are needy rats out there. :)

depending on what part of aussieland you're in, depends on whether or not there are rat rescues. the most well-known is in brisbane. there arent any in southaussieland.
