Hello and welcome to the forum! Do you only have one little boy? I'd strongly recommend getting him a male friend as rats are VERY social and do best in pairs. I'd also recommend quarantining any new rat before you bring them in and when quarantine is over, introducing them nice and slowly so they get used to each other.
