Hi Everyone, This is my hairless boy Kurt, and I just noticed this weird growth near his genitals. Any idea what it is? I'm really scared, I hope it's not anything we can't treat.

Hi and welcome! If you zoom in on the pic, it looks like a wound or an opening, not a growth. Clean it with a cotton swab and sterile water/saline and see if anything comes off on the cotton. If it does, then it needs to be treated. My opinion is it looks to be infected so a trip to the vet would be a good idea. Let us know what you find out.

Preputial gland tumors aren't uncommon in male rats. I've had two boys with them in the past few months. In some cases, they heal on their own if you keep them clean. My boys were both back to normal within a week or so. If it's not healing on it's own, a vet visit might become necessary.
Thanks Corbin, I just learned something new, and since I always have boys, I will need to pay attention to this possibility.
