Well i am planning on getting 2 rats but i only have an aquarium, what do you think of this idea instead:

If i get a cabinet with maybe a glass front or something similar then could i transform it into a rat home as i would like something with more room.

And also i am thinking about using like fleece blankets as the bedding its just im owndering how often you would need to put these in the wash?

What other bedding would you suggest?

Dining cabinets are often remodeled into rat cages, though they depth concerns me, since they're usually not very deep (maybe only 12" or a little more). You would have to remove the glass pans and put it wire, for better ventilation.

Fabric bedding, for two rats, would probably have to be changed every 3-4 days (though, you have to keep up with spot cleaning!).

Thankyou, i just sent you a message, because i saw your old rat grotto because i think it looks fabulous.

The depth i think is quite good as i dont have space for it too be really big i can get tall and up to 36 inches wide though.
