I was just wondering how everyone attached home made shelves to there cages? I like to make my own shelves as shop ones are expensive and pretty small. The first set i made i just screwed straight on to the cage, but then i realised i cant move them around so then i started adding a stip of wood along one side, driling a few holes in and using bolts and wing nuts to attach them so they can be moved around easily. This method works but its abit of a pain with my rubish DIY skills.

Does anyone have any other way of attaching home made shelves to the cage?

i use hanging cat litter trays as my shelves. I drill holes in each corner and then attach keyring clips to them (the lobster grip type ones), then I can hang them in the cage and move them around easily. The fact they are litter trays means I can get a layer of substrate or litter in which is a lot better for smells as well. I made my first set some 8 years ago and they are still going strong.
