House Mouse Infestation

Hi all,

So, I've got a problem. My fiance and i have 3 rattie children, one of which has already had one bad case of mouse lice. This morning i was sitting on the couch, when i look over and there on the arm are 2 little house mice sitting there staring at me. I think they've been sneeking into the rat food, and i'm sure having the best banquet a house mouse can.

So...

I've been doing research and I know that we need to clean and make sure food is not accesible to them...but! i need a way to get them out of the house without harming my babies, and i'd really rather not kill them. All my research also leads me to the conclusion that house mice are an invasive species, and not only is it inhumane to relocate, but if i do they will just become a problem somewhere else.

Any suggestions? I was planning on getting some of the Have-a-heart traps, but then what do i do with them?

Also...I'm concerned for the health of my 2 little boys and my little girl ratties. Any words of wisdom there?

Thanx!

Yikes!

Well the bad news is no matter what you do with THESE mice, there's a good likelihood that unless you get a professional to come and find where they are getting in, more will follow.

Mice can squeeze through an opening the size of a DIME, so that opening needs to be found and patched.

I think that you need to spend the money to have a professional fix this problem, because it may effect the health of your ratties. :(
