One of my rats keeps chewing on (and destroying) my carpet. It's not much of a problem at the moment because my carpet is old and is going to get replaced but she is starting to expose nails and glue that were used to hold the carpet down. How can I stop this behaviour??? If I cover up one corner of my carpet she just moves to another. I'm out of ideas, could there be an underlying cause to her chewing (boredom, anxiety) that could be remedied? Or do I need to just block off all the corners of my carpet?

I'm not sure on the reasoning behind it but one possible option is to block off an area- could be with something simple like cardboard- and put a tarp down. You can secure it with tape to your baseboards and/or the barrier.
I'll give that a shot, thank you! I might have to be a bit crafty when taping it down because my rats have figured out how to peel tape but it's definitely worth a try, thanks for the advice!
