I'm building a grotto style cage, but seriously i'm a little lacking in the creativity department, I would like to build one with two sections the top closed off for my girls, and the bottom closed off for O.P. I would like to use all of the same types of materials that were used to make the original grotto cage, but I want a bit of a different design, I would really REALLY appreciate any advice and i would ESPCIALLY appreciate pictures of already made cages to build up some ideas, my girls deserve a nice big home :)

I'm not entirely sure I understand exactly what you are looking for, but a friend of mine recently told me about "neat idea cubes", which seem like a good idea. Perhaps you could use something like that and then coroplast for the base?

There are a couple of website, here and here, so you get the idea. :)

I need pictures and info on other home made cages i thought i made that clear sorry. I want it to look similar to the grotto style cage, using melamite shelving... i find the cubes look tacky, and since i have cats and a dog that could more than likely easily get through or break the cubes, I'm much more keen on building a good sturdy trustable cage.

I think Naz made and posted about one of those, once. I know Jennielove has made cages, but I don't think hers was that big. I'll have a think and see if I can remember anyone else.

i've seen the ones linked to the dapper site, some people are really crafty lol, my boyfriend is to, but he has limited patience when it comes to carpentry, hes a mechanic, and while he has lots of patience for cars, he has none for wood and nails haha.
No thats not the one i had in mind, but it is nice, and it does give me some ideas thanks!

I believe its a lot easier to buy a cabinet and build from that, then starting over and making it all from scratch.

I'm curious what you mean by some creative ideas. There are lots of things to do but depends if you mean by description or outside the cage or inside.

Do you mean ways they can get up and down the levels?
Interesting things to put IN their cage to occupy them?
Bedding ideas?

well sorta kinda i guess, now I'm confused. Any info that would be helpful BEFORE i start building the cage would be great, like i said, I know the dimensions, I'm pretty sure I know where I want to put the shelving and such, but I mean what are the best ways to do such, I need good advice because I already made a cage .. a huge one btw, not knowing that their Pee would get into the wood and make it stink to high heaven and potentially cause respiratory infections due to amonia, now that I do know that, its too late because I'm already in need of a new cage, and poor Lulu and piggle have to stay in the stinky one until its done, which will hopefully be by this weekend.
