What a lovely sight!!

I actually have a young girl who will sometimes lie on her side and zone out while I stroke her belly, and gently pull her paws....its adorable.
She used to do it all the time at 3 months but now she has gained confidence and runs around like a regular girl. I am sure once she's older and more settled down she'll become one again.

There's nothing like that feeling of love and trust when yuo have a rat that will let you do this...

If you want your rat to do that - the trick is to catch them when they're sleepy. If they trust you, then they'll happily lie there and be scritched, and you can position them upside down.

I can do that during mid-day with my well-socialized rats, but there's no point in even trying after 6pm.
