So one of my rats (Loki) has recently been itching and scratching a lot. A pretty noticeable change. His skin looks clear and free of scabbing, but he has some hair loss around his facial area. It's hard to decipher what this might be from though, because his cagemate (Bane) has been barbering him around the same area. Bane is hairless and hasn't been exhibiting any itching, just as a side note. I've never had to deal with skin problems before so I don't know what I should do. I've heard talk about revolution? Can someone explain what I would do with that, or if getting some of that would be a good idea? Thanks for any help!

If you suspect mites, which will usually be accompanied by a bit of scabbing and really frequent itching, then Revolution is the way to go. your vet will tell you everything you need to know about using it. but keep in mind rats scratch themselves and groom a lot, it's just what they do.
