My rat Kenny was given 2 me as a baby. He is about 4-5 months old now, very playful and affectionate, and I would like to get him a friend. I have read that it is the easiest to introduce a baby male to another, older male. My concern is that by the time quarantine is over, the baby will not be so little anymore. Has anyone else had success with introducing a baby male to an older male? Any suggestions?

By 'baby' it is usually meant to be a 'younger' rat. It's usually easier to introduce a youngish rat to a lone male, as they do not pose as much of a threat (I believe).

I wouldn't worry about it too much - QT peroid is generally 3 weeks and although your new little boy will grow with the speed of a mini rocket, he'll still be a 'baby'.

I'm currently introducing a 2 year old to a bunch of 7 month olds, and so far it is going really well. I've heard of much older intros, also
