Okay one of my rats has this thing when he's eating something and I pet him he'll squeak at me, like I hurt him or something. Is that normal? My other one doesn't do that at all. He sits next to me while he eats and likes to be pet. Oh and the one that squeaks dosen't squeak any other time I pet him. Just while he's eating. Is that a common thing? Is it because he's a male? I'm not sure but I think he might be a little older then the other. Maybe a territorial type of thing?

maybe he's telling you to leave him alone while he's eating... like growling dogs do...

He just doesn't want you to bug him while he's eating. More than likely, he's asking you to back off and not steal his food lol.

I don't bother my boys while they're eating something. Most of them are fine with it but one bit me for it about a month after we got him, so I've been uneasy about it since.
