So my rat, Bosworth, is definitely more... jumpy than Jami is. Recently, I have been finding Bosworth pinning Jami down and... aggressively cleaning him? When this happens Jami squeaks a LOT and I don’t know what to do. I haven’t seen any other signs of stress other than that squeaking. They still seem to love eachother. They sleep together, they chew on things together, they even try to find ways to get out of the room we play in together. Do your rats do this? If so, do you know why?

My rats do this. Cloud pins Smudge down and aggressively grooms him. It is a thing and it is called Forced Grooming. Also, it should not be interfered with. It is a dominance thing.

Ohhhhh! I’m so glad it is not any bad aggression! Thank you!
