A while ago I sent a post about how to bath my rats. For a while I've been looking around for products to wash them with.

This is one I found, but I wanted to see if it was alright to use:

Johnson's Baby Bath Soap Free.

Is this okay to use? I thought since it was soap free it might be okay.

It seems alright.

Just curious - why do you want to bathe your rats?

Should be fine. I actually need to find some stuff for Lily, as she reaks at the moment.

My dominant male once peed on the non - dominant male and since then I knew I'd have to wash it off!

Rats pee on each other all the time :p I'd have to wash my rats every day.

Peeing on each other is part of normal rat social behavior XD

I agree with Night, you'd be bathing your rats constantly if you bathed them every time one peed on another.

Are you sure it's from the pee? Sounds more like buck grease to me.

I never really thought about that Night. I'll take another look at it and check. Either way, don't I still have to wash it off him?

Rats have naturally occurring oils on their skin like all animals, it's just that male rats have more than normal a lot of times, especially if they're intact. It's just the way they are - they don't need to be bathed. Rats are fastidious groomers :)

Every once in awhile I use the pet wipes. They still go crazy cleaning themselves afterwards, but I mostly use them on my PEW when she looks like shes wearing most of her food, instead of have eating it.
