It's Chalk & Cheese

Hey! Welcome to the forum, there aren't many of us from the UK here so it's good to see more joining up. I checked out your Instagram and omg your boys are so photogenic. ;D My favorite was the video of you insisting chalk gives you kisses, he really was like "uhh do I have to, fine kisses then stop bugging me k?". I noticed one of your comments but really don't worry about it, you're pretty and seem like a lovely person. I don't have Instagram myself, I hadn't considered making one for my rats.. Maybe I should think about that... ??? I've attached a picture of Freddy that I used for my forum avatar. He's was in the process of trying to drag all the fleece that's in the cage into a tiny Easter egg box..

Hey hey, I'm pretty sure I follow you on Instagram already! (I just checked and yes, I do)! There is a vague possibility that you may also follow me, but I'm not sure. I have like 199 right now so it's hard to keep track! I'm @scarletlilies. Most of my stuff is rat spam and photography. These are my silly girls. Daisy is the chinchilla berkshire and Millie is the hooded bareback.

I had planned to have a pair but I wanted 2 different colours, I reserved Freddy but he came to me before I had found a second. The day I picked him up I was shocked to find the condition he was in. He had large bald patches from mites and was sneezing non stop . After taking him strait to the vet the same day assuming he would need mite treatment and antibiotics the vet told me that he was either allergic or had very sensitive respiratory system. I spent a long time testing different bedding etc but he would still just sneeze non stop. Then I noticed he would calm down while he was in the playpen, I realized not only was it the bedding but his own waste that was causing it. So I had to make the choice of keeping him alone and cleaning the bare cage daily so he could breath easy. I spend 24/7 with him to make sure hes not lonely, my lovely special little guy. He really is so cute in that picture, I think he looks like a little bear there. His birthday is the 1st of august so he's almost 11 months old now ;D.

I will make a instagram profile and follow you I promise! I miss not having many pictures of my past rats so I guess that's a good way to keep track!
