you can get one double critter nation cage for about $200 and it can hold up to 12 rats but that pushing it greatly to its limits. What you can do on craigslist though is as questions. Make sure to see the cage. Either in person or through email. Have them with the cage so you know its not just taken from the internet. Ask about bedding, food, playtime...everything that thw rats need for a happy healthy life. Ask what vet they use. Hope this helps.

I have also heard that Revolution is harmful to snakes - so maybe if you did all of the above and also told the person adopting they have been treated with revolution.
Good luck with the babies and new homes!!

How often have they been handled since they were born? How friendly are they, and do they mind being held? Can you share some pictures?

I live in York, I might be interested. I have two very old girls who will start to decline soon and I've been considering introducing two new babies, but I'm not yet sure if I can afford to keep two more rats at this time since I can expect vet visits for my own in the near future.

It's recommended to charge a small rehoming fee to help ensure they are going to committed homes and also not as snake food - $5-10 per rat is recommended.

I honestly don't know why rat stores sell rats so cheap. When you think about what you spend later on for bedding, cages, cleaning, etc those $10 seem much too low. I would not mind paying 3 times that. That only makes my intentions clear, and also you spent time and money bringing up those babies for 7 weeks.
I am 100 miles from Harrisburg. Not far, but I don't think I'm ready for more rats at this time yet.
