My rats love tearing up fabrics through their cage. and i keep their cage at the end of ymy bed so my blanket is totally torn. i'd move the cage but i like thme next to my bed.

and last nite i had a rosie odonell doll on my bed, yes Rosie Odonell doll. and i kicked it off while i was sleepin and it landed on their cage. They killed the doll. Its ripped up bad. and i woke up, looked in the cage and had to search for the rats n the cotton b/c it was like 4 inches covering the whole cage.

So i was wondering...does anyone know of a safe toy to be torn up with safe stuff in it. any ideas how to fill their need to tear cotton up.

i'm pretty sure that any stuffed animal is fine for them to shred. if it's safe for children, it should be safe for rats, no? i'm sure no one expected a child to eat it, but your rats shouldn't really be eating it anyway...

my rats like to drag blankets and shirts thru the bars while i sleep and shred those too. what sweet little creatures... -.-'

haha yeah, i now have just the head which i put on the end of my room facin my bed so nightmares are in the near future.

because my girls are the biggest brats, i had to move their cage up high and away from my bed. i'v gone thru too many blankets, shirts, and dolls. thing is i give them stuffed animals and they dont tear those.

rats are smart and know good form bad and mine chose to be bad.
but i love them
