I recently bought 2 baby rats (Soapy and Chairman Ichimura :>) and though they're a little skittish and shy, they're very affectionate. Recently though, I came home from class and my roommate was blaring butt rock to the point where you could hear it outside! I assume this is happening whenever I'm not in the house, which is most of the day. Could the noise and the bass be stressing my rats out or even be causing their skittishness?

I just thought I'd run this by a forum of rat owners before I over react and freak out on the guy.

My rats are not noise sencitive but it could be though i would guess that it is that you just brought them home i am sure they don't like the noise but i blast my music and the rats don't mind at all and i play manson so i am assuming the music is similar in style. I have six boys and my newest edition is still a little skittish but nothing too bad how long have you had them?

I've had them almost 2 months now, I bought them from a pet store so they weren't very socialized. I'm just worried it's undoing some of the work I've done making them feel confortable. I play my music loud, but my speakers definately dont shake the walls.

my music shakes the walls every once in a while when i am playing guitar hero my rats are older though and they are used to it. Do you have anywhere you can put the ratties when you are not hom like a bathroom or a closet? cover their cage with a blanket so a to deaden the sounds and if that doesn't help then talk to your room mate and see if you can work something out
