A really easy and rewarding way of enriching rattie playtime, or for putting in their cage, is a tray of wheat-grass. My ratties spend ages digging and nibbling and playing in it. Planting it is really easy. After soaking the seeds for a while, I just put them in a tray of (sterile) potting-type soil and keep it wet until the grass has sprouted. It takes about 10 days from planting until rat-readiness, and they can't get enough of it ;D

Here is my squishball Charlie the russian blue dumbo in the wheat-grass tray, with George the sable siamese looking on:

Thats so cute and such a brilliant idea! I will be up the garden centre this weekend it looks like :D

Ps - Your babies have just the sweetest faces!
