My males are around 6 months old now. They're brothers. They're bigger than my older females but not as big compared to what I see in other male rats' pics. They're not fat at all and they move around a lot like my girls. They're not thin, though. They look well-rounded.

Is not being fat for a male rat something bad?

It's good to not be fat! :D

If they're healthy, and not skinny, then there's nothing wrong. I think they'll probably get bigger and squishier as they get older though. My 10 month old male is starting to pudge out a bit, so I cut back on the Yogies

It is good not to be fat. You may have smaller framed boys. Bacardi, my oldest, weighs only about 300 g, which is fairly close to a female. Perry, my largest, outweighs him by 300 g. But they're both proportional. :)

My Jay weights about 1.5lbs and Silent Bob weights almost 2 lbs.
Thats awesome. Whats your rats diet? I want it for my guys.
A healthy male weight will be determined by genetics... so if they're meant to be small they'll stay that way. ;)

I don't know all of the weights of my males but I do know that my biggest male Loki was last weighed about 2 months ago at if I remeber correctly 620 grams. The vet asked if I had taken away his wheel and I said no its his favorite place to sleep the vet said he could stand to use a little weight but hes still healthy.
