Hello everyone! Not too long ago, I had 3 female ratties. My one girlie was 4 years old, and had a ton of red liquid coming out of her nose, and ocassionally had red eye crusty's. She was very congested and it scared me. I talked to my friend who works at a pet hospital and he gave me a medication to help her. He told me to give it to the other 2 as well, but in a smaller dose. I forget what the medication is called. Unfortunately, my girlie passed away about a week ago. I have continued to give the two younger ones the medication. Today, I got a new girlie. I was concerned about if I should give her the medication even if she wasn't around the sick girl at all. But she has been around the other two girls. Should I begin giving her a small dose, or should she be fine?

I would as your friend at the vets or the vet himself to weigh them first. The medication that each rat gets depends on the concentration of the medication and the weight of the individual rat.
