Does anyone know of a metal cage bottom replacement that would fit the Kaytee My First Home Habitat Multi-level for Exotics? Our girls are chewing through the plastic bottom and escaping. (They have wood to chew and get lots of playtime outside their cage each day). The dimensions are 29.5" x 17.5" x6". It looks like this one might work Replacement Bottom for ALT Luxury Rat Pet Home [WA 900805] : Critter-Cages but not sure the fasteners would be the same. Has anyone had experience with this issue? Any suggestions?

Thanks for the suggestion! I did contact them and they are sending a replacement bottom (plastic) as a courtesy so I thought that was great service. The rats may chew through that one as well but we'll try it before investing in a metal cage. They suggested spraying the plastic with apple or cherry bitters (which they say are harmless) to deter chewing. Has anyone used those products?

I'm not sure how well bitter spray works for rats. Some cats aren't deterred by it🤷‍♀️ Providing tons of safe chew things for the rats also won't stop some from trying to chew their way out. Maybe there's a way to line the inside of the bottom with hardware cloth?
