Every since I got Peter Pan he just seems to be missing a nail. The finger that's missing it seems just a tiny bigger than the rest but it's not abnormally red and it doesn't seem to be hurting him. I've been keeping an eye on it since I noticed it didn't seem infected and nothing has changed. It doesn't seem to bother him at all. Should I do something or just let it be since it doesn't effect him at all really.

It probably isn't important. How long have you had him?

I had a parakeet (RIP Blueberry) who had a talon that always grew the wrong way (towards his body), despite frequent clippings and even clipping it too short on purpose (by a vet). It was just his unique self.

Yeah, if it was going to grow back in you would've seen something by now.

Rats nails pull out rather easily and usually grow back pretty quickly. With a 5 year old that loved to snatch up her rats we lost a lot of nails, but they all grew back... My daughter is more careful now.

If the nail doesn't grow back, perhaps your rat never had that one, in any case I wouldn't worry about it.
