Hello :)
I haven't been on the forum for a long time, but I'm back because I'm afraid my rat Basil seems to have some sort of bites all over his body. I'm afraid it might be fleas or something like it, and want to know how he could've got them and how to get rid of them. They seem to be minute lesions with a scab on top, on areas where he couldn't reach himself, which makes me believe that they are not self-inflicted. Also, he hasn't lost any fur. Hope me descriptions help to identify the problem.
And, if it isn't bites, what could it be?
Thank you!

It could be mites, in which case you need to treat with revolution. Another thing could be if there is too much protein in his diet, which makes them itchy and the rat causes the scabby skin himself. I just switched foods the other day. My poor old girl has those.
