Well, this is very sad, but, today we went downstairs to see the rats, all to notice that Ginger, our 6-12months old female rat was dead. :( (we aren't completely sure her age) now, we are fairly new to rats. We also had a rat pass away a few months ago, also. But there is one that has been living for a couple years now. :D We have no clue as to what has caused Ginger's death. our other rat that died we had suspected had died of old age, but does anyone know why Ginger may have passed away? As we looked at her, I noticed a bunch of what looked like blood underneath her nose, but I also know that that is the color of their mucos...so any ideas are helpful. :)

We are thinking that maybe it was a brain tumor, considering the blood, and that she starting not being able see well in the end.

There is a possiblity for many things the only way to know for sure is to have a necropsy done. Could be a virus or soemthing else possibly a tumor but there would have been a lump.
