so my ratty has some monstrous talons growing on her back feet. she doesn't have anything for them to get caught in, but they kinda scratch my neck when she rests up there. i'm super afraid to cut her nails because she's kind of a spaz. with my dogs i often take them for a run outside so the concrete can wear them down, but she is still too small for the harness i bought her. any help?

well if you want to clip them the best time is when they are tired (wakethem up and do it) i put my guys in a mini head lock and they struggle for a minute but they eventually give in also if you aren't comfortable clipping them you can put a brick in their cage (usually under their water bottle works) or you can take them to the vet to get them clipped

something i do b/c i'm also shaky about useing clippers, If you can buy one of those concret ladders that they have for birds and put that in somewhere (like buy the door or get them to use it going from level to level) and you can get a nail file and try to file them down.

I use these . I put them in a place where the rats come to greet us most and they keep their nails down a treat. I'm not brave enough to try clipping their nails
