I noticed that my rats nails are getting a bit longer and I was wondering if you can cut their nails and if you can, how? If not, is there anything I can do to help them naturally cut down their nails? Also: my rats are still squirmy with being held, they like to climb around on me a lot and I'm not sure how to get them to hold still. Any help would be great, thanks!

You can cut their nails. The best way is to do it with 2 people and have the rat wrapped in a towel. You can use nail clippers designed for babies. If the rat is very un-cooperative or scared you can also put a rough surface in their cage like a brick. Make sure you put it in an area where they will always have to go - like to their food dish or under their water.

please make sure NOT to clip the quick! if you do it's gonna bleed a lot and be very painful.
if you do accidently do it, stop the bleeding by rubbing a softened bar of soap across the top of the nail, this will act like a plug.
