Well for the last day or two apparently our wall has been leaking where the carpet meets the wall in the closet which is right next to where our bathroom is. We noticed it really bad this morning the whole carpet next to the closet was soaked. We did an emergency call the the maintenance people at our apartment complex who are usually off on weekends we had to leave before he got here though. The only thing he did was pull the carpet up put a fan under it and put a dehumidifier in the room and said they will be back on monday. Well now the room smells really bad of mildew and damp stuff and its is causing the room to be about 82F. My poor rats live in this room and I am worried about what the air quality and the heat could be doing to them especially because I already have my old boy that is having bad respiratory problems already. I am considering putting them out in the living room where it is only about 75F right now and it doesn't smell bad my only concern with this is that is where we keep our ferret and I don't know if being that close to the ferret is going to stress them out to much.

I don't know what is going to happen on monday we might have to completely leave the apartment for a few days while they fix whatever was causing the leak because the guy that came today obviously was being lazy and didn't even try to figure it out. We would probably have to go to my moms with the animals for a few days if they made us leave to fix whatever the problem is. I am really stressed about this and I am worried what it is doing to my boys. I don't even know if we will be able to sleep with it likes this because it smells bad, is hot, and is loud in our room right now.

T_T This is making me so stressed

Agreed, put them in the living room. As long as the ferret can't get to them and vice versa it should be fine

I put them in the living room last night. They hopefully figured out the problem today and will be coming tomorrow to fix everything. I am worried about them though I have seen some people say that you shouldn't even keep rats and ferrets in the same home because the smell of the ferret will stress the rats out to much. My older two seem to be fine in there because I think they trust me enough to know I am not going to do something to hurt them but my baby seems to be scared and stressed.

The ferret is more likely to freak than the rat would. Rats know when they're being hunted and can recognize the smell of cats and that's that. An our domestic rats sometimes lack this. Ferrets are more like terrier dogs to rats, which only concern them when they're hunting.
