Hello,

I'm from Portugal and I can't find neither Harlan Teklad or Oxbow Regal Rat for sale at a reasonable price here, I'd order online but the shipping costs are crazy...

So I've been looking for the best available food I can find to give my two girls and I found these two food mixes online that seem to be very balanced to me and not very processed, but I need someone else's opinion on the matter:

Btw, I've been giving them Beaphar Care+ mixed with seeds and grains (50%kibble+50%mix), and veggies once (sometimes twice) a week

Thank you in advance for any help!

The first one looks the best out of the two to me, but that's mainly because the second one has dyes which I highly disapprove of for my own pets. However, they both have beef which isn't the best meat for rats and a LOT of corn. Pet-food grade corn usually is awful. Also, that much banana probably isn't good for rats. You could pick out the banana and corn, but that's tedious...

Honestly, if those are your best options, I suggest you look into making your own mix. If you can get your hands on grains, seeds, and dried fruits and vegetables, you could probably make something healthier for them than any pet food you could buy. Send me a PM if you want some advice making your own mix. There are also some other members here that make their own mix, so they could help as well.
