My lovely Marie Antoinette has a scratch not on her eye, but the skin surrounding it. It hasnt gone away in a few weeks. No pain, but i just want it to heal. Also, no sign of infection.
It is a scratch and not porphyrin.

Is neosporn around the eye ok? No doubt it will get in her eye, is this safe for a rat?

I wouldn't reccommend it, because it's too close to the eye and quite easily rubbed into it. Maybe try bathing it with warm water? If there's no sign of infection, it might just be taking it's time to heal properly because of the location?

Has she been worrying at it at all?

I've checked my tube of Neosporin and it says avoid contact with the eyes.

Maybe if it's not healing, your vet can advise some sort of safe cream or eye drop?

Warm water and salt, applied with a Q-tip, that's what I did for the same problem, Addo was fine with it! The solution should be 'no saltier than your own tears' apparently.
