At what age can you have a male rat neutered? Our newbie was pregnant when we got her and we may end up with one male without a home. We have 2 girls that are not spayed, so if we got the boy fixed we ould keep him? He is 4 weeks old now.
Thanks

you would have to ask your vet, its more of a comfort level for them. Mine is good at 3-4 months. I know of one vet who can neuter at 3 weeks. 8O

3 weeks? Geez - their balls have barely dropped LOL It's a "hello there, what are you..oh nevermind, they've disappeared!" kind of thing

My vet will neuter from 12 weeks (3 months). He's told me that you shouldn't neuter too early, as the hormones produced at a young age help later development. How true that is or not, I don't know. But 'tis what I've been told
