I was wondering if any of you guys cooked for your rats? If you have any little things that you like to whip up for your ratties, I'd love to hear!

I like cooking for my rats, so here is one of the newer things that I've thought up:

Ice's Apple Veggie Stir Fry
1 med. zuchinni*
1 roma tomato
1/2 sm. apple
1 tsp. olive oil
garlic powder to taste

1. Wash and cube zucchini, leaving skin on.
2. In medium skillet, lightly brown zucchini cubes on high heat in olive oil. Add a few pinches of garlic powder (garlic is great for rats!).
3. Wash and cut tomato into thick strips, drain juice.
4. When zucchini cubes are fork tender (they start to become transparent as well), reduce heat to medium, and add tomatoes.
5. Wash and dice apple.
6. When tomatoes start to release their juice (approx. 2 minutes), add apples**, reduce heat to low, and cover. Cook for another 2 minutes.
7. Cool and serve warm.

- May be refrigerated in airtight container for up to three days. Also good cold.
- If your rats are not a big fan of spinach, try shredding some fresh leaves, and folding into fried veggies.

*This recipe also works well with eggplant.
**Once tomatoes have been partially cooked, try not to stir them too much. It causes them to break down.
