8O So my 8 month old male dumbo rat is displaying a little odd behaviour. I understand that rats urine mark. But what about scent marking with the buck grease in response to the scent of other males.
He let him down to play alone because he does ot fancy getting on with the other three males tat i keep together and get along fine. If he comes across an area that has been walked apon by another he frantically stamps his feet and rolls al over the place and if i try and pick him up during this he attacks????

His buck grease increases during this and becomes obvious. Any one know of this before hand and is it a scent marking behaviour or what???

Thank you

I would hold off on the nuetering for a bit he is in his adolescent phase and it may pass with out having to neuter him. Have you been doing introductions? is he aggressive towards you any other time? when did this behaior start?

Hi No hes not aggressive at any other time just during this marking hes as good as gold. i breifly introduced him to another when he was younger but not since because of this behaviour and the other rat was not agressive toward him in any way. It started maybe 4 or 5 months of age. what do you think?
