well, the mesh that we covered the cage in held them in for awhile, until they chewed a chunk out of the back corner! they didnt bother escaping, only causing greif for a poor unsuspecting mommy -sighs- my dad fixed it for me though. we are going away to niagra falls for a day, so i want to move them to the little cage (i hate myself for doing that) also, in the pictures of the cage, you can seee that the platforms are made of wood, and they are peeing on it and walking through it, any tips for litter training and also what i could cover the platforms with, until they are litter trained? thanks!

ps- they pull all ofthe litter out of the litter box and bury it, any suggestions for that?

Perhaps sticky-backed linoleum tiles for the wood? Usually even litter-trained rats will pee outside the box on occasion.

As for the litter box, you could try changing the litter, perhaps?
