My young female rat (which I had for only about a week) has now a small patch of thinning fur (not quite a bald spot, but you can clearly see the skin underneath). It's on her head, between her eyes and her ears.

Could this be because her sister is always jumping on her and wrestling with her (and always winning, even though she's smaller)? Or is this mites, or something? Both rats are scratching themselves, but I don't know if it's excessive or the normal amount. The other rat's fur looks nice and healthy.

Should I be taking her to the vet?

Does the other rat groom her head a lot? That could be causing the hair loss, I don't think she could be doing it to herself because of the placement on her body
