well in worcester (the city i live in) you can go in to any pet shop and its a garentee they will have a litter of 5 of rats so wen i went to vistit my nan in shropshire (a smaller town in shropshire) i poped in to a pet shop and to my surprise no rats they only every get have a litter of rats if they have certain homes for every rat! i think thats the best thing ive seen in a pet shop!
