Does anyone know where to look for affordable and large cages with plenty of space?

Also ....i have heard of connecting two cages with a tunnel....does anyone know where to buy one or how to build one?

I got my rat a few weeks ago and I am learning a lot!

Does anyone have any favorite games or tricks that you play or teach your rats?

Try looking about at ferret cages and chinchilla cages and the like. These work great but could have spacing big enough to allow smaller rats out.

Birdcages can work as well if you're willing to build in shelves.

Else Martins cages are always very popular, as if the somewhat expensive (though worth it) Ferret Nation 142.

Connecting two cages with a tunnel sounds like something you could do with those cheap hamster plastic cages that are built to have clip in tunnels, though I suppose people handier than myself could manage a high quality version.

Also, always remember to check the rat calculator (it's stickied in the 'Rat Homes' forum) to make such the cage is big enough.

Thanks soooooo much...you've been a big help! Raz-Ma-Taz is such a sweet heart....I swear everyday when i get home i can't wait to go get him and let him run around and play on me! He's a lovey boy.

I cut a hole and then put roll of lino to cover the sharper bits. The cage I got off gumtree.com from someone for £10
I can take it off and put the bottom back on for trasnpost and I just cut up a whillie suitcase and attached it so my hand dosent get sore carrying it-well proud of myself
