My girl fiona has undergone a big personality change in the last couple days. Shes keeping more to herself, isn't as playful or affectionate as she used to be, and actually runs and hides from me which shes never done before. She's about 10 weeks old and I've had her and her sister for about 2 weeks. I was holding them both today and noticed that Fionas tummy is bigger, and firmer then Callies and it also feels a tad lumpy. Also her nipples are visible, not protruding, but visible, her sister callie also has a white belly and u can't see her nipples at all. Is there a chance shes pregnant? she's not nesting at all. And wasn't with any males when I got her, but I adopted them from someones "ooops" litter So I don't know if she was with males before hand. Thank you!

She could be pregnant yes, gestation is 3 weeks, so if she was exposed just prior to you getting her...

Can you weigh her daily?

Or take her to a vet? Sometimes illness makes personalities change.

You got her at 8 weeks old? And the boys were removed from the girls at 5 weeks? You're probably okay. Can you check with the person to ask when she segregated the sexes?

It does sound like pregnancy but it all depends on when the sex separation happened.

She was eight weeks old when you got her? There's probably a good chance she was carried in in a carrier with males... At that age, it's possible. :(

Not necessarily. Pregnancy in young rats can be hit or miss. One may have been in heat and the other not.

Both might be pregnant, but one isn't showing, though by now you'd think she might be.

Do you have pics of her tummy?
