i have a question!! my rattie trey ate a couple pods worth of poppy seeds when she escaped from her cage about a week ago. She has been leaking porphyrin out her nose and eyes a lot and she is quite lethargic and just not the same as she used to be, she is about 11 months old. She is still eating and drinking, but now all she wants to do is hang out in her cage. i have read that poppy seeds can cause neurological damage and even death in rats, so i am quite concerned...i hope that someone has experienced this before and can help me!!

I have no experiance with this, but if she's acting unlike her normal self get her to a vet ASAP.

Over consumption of anything can be toxic... But if she's acting sick, take her to a vet.

I thought Why is someone typing a topic on my user name. Then I read: 'I have a question' and thought 'why is someone asking ME a quesion >_>' then I read further and realised what this was about.

I'm sorry about your rat. Sounds very scary D: I don't know sounds like she needs to go into the vet. They might have drugs that can help neutralise the poison? Not certain on that D: But regardless take her. I hope it's alright.
