Hi all!
A few months ago one of girls had an ear infection- usual over grooming of the problematic ear and showed signs if dizziness. Gave her Ronaxan and seemed to clear it up. However with the infection also came a smell- a bit cheesy and gross! No discharge at all.
The smell never completely went but all other symptoms did! They all have little baths every few weeks but I avoid wasing out their ears etc.
I've started her on baytril now as the smell seems to have come back really bad again... Any ideas on what it could be/ has anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks all!!

The smell probably means the infection isn't gone or she may have a build up of wax that is too deep to clean. Treating the infection might not do any good if it's an excess of wax causing the problem in the first place. Not sure how you'd go about checking a rat's ears or cleaning them...maybe a vet visit?
