I’m a new rat owner and One of my rats nibbles a lot and only does it to fingers or toes. He’s a confident rat but when he sees fingers he will nibble them and has draw blood twice. I’m not scaring him when he bites he will just come up to hands and do that. I don’t know if this is considered aggression that I should be worried about because he did draw blood or if he just nibbles a little to hard sometimes.

What does he act like when he is doing it? Are the hairs on the back of his neck raised? Do you have hangnails that you chew on?
Rats respond to rough/uneven surfaces by nibbling them, and raised "hackles" could mean aggression or just messy fur. The next time this happens, if he draws blood or hurts you, make a loud squeaking noise, push him away a little bit, and then take your hand away from him. Sometimes rats don't quite understand that they're hurting you, and they actually mean no harm.

Good luck!
