For my rats i have a large area outside the cage for them to use when there are people downstairs to keep an eye on them. Because the area around the outside of the cage has parts made of wood, they like to chew them.

I have bought things for them to chew on which are inside the cage, but they insist on chewing whatever they choose.

I know my friend has some stuff which can be sprayed onto an area where the cat isn't allowed to go.

Does anyone know of anything i could use like this to stop my rats chewing?

Bitter apple and vinegar may be worth a try. Some rats may like the taste, though. The best bet is to remove the wooden items or keep the rats away from them.

you have to keep in mind that chewing is in their nature, so removing one thing very well could just make them move on to the next chewable item lol.
