Today I've noticed that my female rat seems generally weak and struggles to keep her balance.
She is 1.5 years old, overweight. She still shows great interest in food and water. She was able to reach food dish on top floor of the cage when I served breakfast today. But she can't hold food in her hands because when she tries to do so, she falls. Same with grooming. How serious is her condition? Maybe someone had the same problem here? I am kinda scared.

My mom said it's not something I should worry about because her eyes are shiny and she looks well, except for the sudden weakness and lack of balance. She sleeps at the moment and I give her time to rest. I'll check on her every now and then. Meanwhile, any suggestions?

I would get her to the vet asap.

It definitely is not a good sign and will probably continue to get worse.

The issue could be an ear infection, a stroke or tumor. All of which need to be seen by the vet.

I hope your baby is ok.
