Oh yes, an emory board is usable. Be careful not to take the nails down too much though.😉

one of my rats, Appa, is about 2 years and a few months old, his nails are really long but I have tried clipping them and that was too nerve racking and was hardly able to do anything, there also lava ledges in the cage but they don't do anything for his nails. so I was wondering if I could use a (human) nail file to file his nails down? he also has a little swollen toe, I don't know if that's related to his nails or not. please help me with this. thanks

Trimming Rat's nails is a PITA. They're so tiny you need a neurosurgeon's hands, and getting them to hold still...yeesh🙄Oh yes, an emory board is usable. Be careful not to take the nails down too much though.😉
